Jason August runs Gourmet Real Estate. That means two jobs. The first is building and managing the team, which covers hiring, training, and the day to day work of keeping on-site people sharp. The second is the marketing and sales of Gourmet listings, including land and new home developments.
The work he cares most about is the part where a builder or developer is sitting on something that is not performing the way it should. A community that is absorbing too slowly. A land position that needs a plan before it needs a broker. A price sheet that is leaving money on the table. Jason partners with builders and developers to improve their position in the market and to make the project more profitable without simply spending more on advertising.
Before Gourmet
Jason spent years in business development and strategy work before taking over the firm. He served on the founding executive team at Build-A-Bear Workshop, which grew into an international retail operation. Retail taught him something that transfers directly to a sales center: the experience a customer has in the room is the product, and it can be designed on purpose rather than left to chance.
He also founded a real estate company in California and contributed to technology advancement work for the U.S. Army.
Education and credentials
Jason holds a degree from Washington University in St. Louis and studied at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.
He is a licensed Colorado real estate broker, license ER.040029060, and holds the CSP and CMP designations. He is a member of the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver, the Colorado Association of Home Builders, and the National Association of Home Builders.
